This project is an interface for scheduling appointments and selling hair products.
The barbershop is a men's hair salon with a very young and welcoming vibe. My goal was to preserve the atmosphere in the interface; to connect to the barbershop customers and help the business owner manage the appointments and order products for the barbershop; and to help the customers schedule appointments and purchase the products.
In this project, together with Israel the business owner, I designed the pages for the interface according to his needs.
Then I did some research on the customers of the barbershop, and built a flow process and wireframe for the app. Next, after trying it out on some customers and doing an initial test run, I started designing the pages and making a prototype.
The whole process was carried out in full cooperation with the programmer who built the app.
"I was glad to work with Orr. He was very attentive to my requests, and even when we disagreed on something, he knew how to guide me through it and achieve a positive result both in terms of customer experience and in terms of the app’s overall look. Besides his professionalism, he is a very kind and pleasant person".
-Israel Levy
My goal was to build an interface that is convenient for both sides: on the one hand for the business owner, who could now manage his schedule, add or cancel appointments, send messages to customers and add employees who would manage their own schedules.
On the other hand, a user-friendly interface that allows his customers to log in to the app to schedule an appointment or purchase products
Israel's main problem was the nonstop phone calls from customers trying to schedule an appointment for a haircut or order products, while he is busy serving customers at the shop. A few other problems were: handling repeat customers, canceling appointments and getting requests from customers for hair product deliveries instead of picking them up at the store.
After defining the flow together and choosing the screens we need, I moved on to create the wireframe – and thoroughly explore the user experience screen by screen, while studying and closely following all the details, such as buttons and transitions between screens. The main focus was the flow of the appointment scheduling, which would be the very core of the app.
After completing everything, I made a prototype and passed it on to a programmer for further development.
